Healthy Living Series
Want to lose weight, lower cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure and blood sugar, build stronger bones,
raise your HDL and slow down the aging process?
The Healthy Living Series details the lifestyle that will help you succeed. This FREE 2-part presentation is funded by the Community Foundation and the LifePlex Institute for Health & Wellness. Your physician may enroll you in the classes or you are welcome to sign yourself up and start living healthier. To attend one or both sessions, call (574)936-2333 or stop at the front desk to register. This is an opportunity for the whole community.
Session 1- Reduce Your Health Risks
Adopt the healthy habits to reduce your risk factors for disease and increase health and vitality.
Date: Every 1st Wednesday of the month; Time: 6:30-7:30pm

Session 2- Successful Weight Loss
Learn what it takes to lose weight and keep it off. Leave with a clear plan of action.
Date: Every 2nd Wednesday of the month; Time: 6:30-7:30pm

Cardio-Strength-Flexibility Orientation - FREE to Members!
Group Orientations offer the opportunity for Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness members to increase their comfort level with strength training, cardio equipment, and a stretching routine. Whether you've been a member for two weeks or two years, you can plug into this brief session to increase your skills and energize your workouts. The group venue offers fun learning with other members and a unique opportunity to learn from each others' questions and the fitness trainer's expertise.
Stretch: Mondays 9am & 6pm

Freedom From Smoking: Tobacco Cessation Program
Are you ready to quit for good?
Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness offers low-cost tobacco cessation classes thanks to grant funding from the Marshall County Health Department. The 7-week program
(8 classes) includes resources to quit, skills to manage weight and stress, group support, and a two-month full membership to Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness, all for only $30. Over a $300 Value.
Dates: March 13-April 17
(8 sessions- 7 sessions on Tuesdays and 1 session on Thursday

Community Outreach Education Series
Community Outreach Education is a free educational lecture brought to the community by professionals in Marshall County and surrounding areas to increase awareness of health concerns. These lectures are given on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:30 - 7:30pm, in the LifePlex Conference Room.
January 17th: Motivation & Goals- Make this year a reality by achieving your New Years Resolutions!
February 21st: Heart Health - What are my numbers?
March 20th: Nutrition 101 - Need Energy? The foods you eat make a difference!

Diabetes You Can Manage
Come and learn how to manage, control, & even eradicate this disease from your life!
The statistics are staggering. The American Diabetes Association reports18.8 million people in the United States are diagnosed with diabetes. It is estimated that 7 million people are diabetic but undiagnosed; 79 million people are prediabetic. You may be one of them. The danger is not only diabetes, but the potential dangers of decreased wound healing, amputations, blindness, decreased sensation, and other organ damage. Diabetes is often accompanied with cardiovascular disease and other illnesses and quality of life issues. But Type II Diabetes is preventable! Lifestyle Assessment
Lifestyle 101 is an exploration of multiple aspects of your life in a balanced, guided, non threatening one-on-one personal coaching session. This FREE 20-30 minute lifestyle discussion will give you a sense of wholeness and direction. It is an optional but valued next step after your fitness assessment as a member of Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness. You may choose to continue deeper exploration and use of resources for your life components in Lifestyle Direction.
Lifestyle Direction Coaching
Lifestyle Direction Coaching is a deeper exploration than Lifestyle Assessment. You and Dr. Sam Boys, your Direction Coach, will decide the frequency and length of discussion. Dr. Sam will guide you in exploring and structuring many
important aspects of your life to lead you to a more balanced and purposeful lifestyle. He will assist you in the resources and tools you need to realize your goals in your personal lifestyle plan.

Rev. Dr. Sam Boys (B.A., M.Div., D.Min., R.Y.I.) is an ordained minister, and a professor of Philosophy & Religion at Ancilla College. He has a degree in spiritual direction and pastoral counseling, and 23 years of experience working with people of all ages. He is also a certified yoga instructor with a specialty in working with at-risk youth. He is open and accepting of persons of all beliefs and orientations. All counseling sessions are confidential.

Fitness Forum Sports & Wellness is launching a new Sports Performance program. This program is designed to take athletes to the next level. A series of 9 tests will be conducted that will provide insight into the Speed, Power, Explosiveness, Agility, Strength, and Quickness that is demanded by sports played at high levels. From the baseline results of those tests we can create and conduct a progression of workouts to improve, their athletic, & mental capabilites as it pertains to their sport.
